Internationally, the UBC commits $100 million annually to training programs at nearly 200 centers. In 2001, the UBC opened its International Training Center in Las Vegas —a facility dedicated to continually improving the knowledge and skill of those who teach apprenticeship and journeyman upgrade classes in every center in the country.
The Millwright Regional Council coordinates activities at UBC training centers in all the local areas.
The UBC Apprenticeship Program is second to none. This 8000 hour program combines classroom instruction with on-the-job learning to produce craftsmen with a solid foundation of skills. Training that includes everything from basic safety to blueprint reading.
Millwright Local 1410 Apprentices will have to complete Basic, Intermediate and Advanced schooling at a Ministry registered College in Ontario during their apprenticeship.
